Autumn is yellow

Autumn is (very) slowly turning the leafs yellow. It seems that this process takes a bit more time in Japan than it does in Europe. But I have no complaints, it's a nice season and who wants to be in winter anyway?
It is also apple season, and what smells nicer than apples being cooked with vanilla, cinnamon....and a tiny bit of snaps?
This is Hiroshi's apple pie and ice cream, with our Sunday afternoon coffee.
Yummy!

Fuji san

Last Saturday was the last day in Japan for Ulla and Andre'. They traveled around a lot from North to South but since they haven't been close to Mount Fuji during their adventures we decided to have a day trip to join them in Mishima (about 2 hours from home). There we rented a car and drove one more hour before reaching a lake at the foot of the mountain. The view was supposed to be splendid and I had big expectations. But in spite of the overall sunny weather we were surrounded by low and thick clouds, low enough and thick enough to exactly hide the mountain. The disappointment was of course proportional to the expectation.
This is the "best" photo I can show you. I swear it is Mt.Fuji, you can see a piece of the foot on the right, and a piece of the summit in between the clouds. The conditions for taking photos were so bad that even Photoshop was not of much help.
Oh well, we will probalbly be more lucky next time (or not).
